COCKLED YARN

A bad fault in yarns, and when present, the yarn is very difficult to use. This cockled (or wormy) yarn may look all right, but in places it is very brittle. Cotton of long fibres mixed with shorter staple will cause the defect as well as faulty setting of the machinery.
